Review for Labrador Rescuers, San Diego, CA, USA
When we were ready to adopt a new dog (our old dog died about six months ago), we started doing web searches for shelters, rescue groups, etc. and came across Lab Rescuers. They had helpful biographies about the dogs they were currently fostering and we saw a few we were interested in. We filled out their application, which was thorough but not overly burdensome, and got a response back very quickly to schedule a home visit. I met our future fur baby, Ike, at an adoption event Lab Rescuers hosted. He was scheduled to go to a new foster home after the event that would have been much further away and harder for my spouse to go meet once she returned from traveling, so Michele, our contact person with Lab Rescuers arranged to take Ike home with her because she lived near us and then she brought him over for a combination meet and greet and home visit. And the rest, as they say, is history. We adopted Ike on the spot. Michele was awesome, answering questions, providing advice, and just generally being there for us. When we were struggling with integrating Ike with our two cats, she immediately hooked us up with Hector, one of their foster dads who's also a dog trainer. Hector dropped everything and came to our house to give us some tips even though he was trying to get ready to leave on vacation. Definitely above and beyond the call, but it just showed how much they care and want their adoptees and adoptors to be successful. Our experience with Lab Rescuers was exceptional. I can't think of anything they could have done better.
