Review for Lily Sanctuary Parrot Rescue, Fountain Valley, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been with the Lily Sanctuary for over 6 years now. This is wonderful place. I have seen real life miracles happen with bird happen here. Birds that were severely traumatized or neglected received real healing and ultimately new loving forever homes. The dedication to the betterment of the lives of every bird that comes to the sanctuary by Venette Hill, director, and volunteer staff is amazing. It takes a great deal of time and commitment DAILY to take care of the birds. These needs are surpassed each day by the volunteers that come EVERY DAY to clean cages, dishes and give all the birds outside play time in the outdoor aviaries.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

growing with The Lily Sanctuary and having the honor of being able to have my talents used to give the sanctuary tools to be able to have increase in their income and event opportunities. Foremost,to see time after time the scores of successful adoptions.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

secure a reliable volunteer Grantwriter to pursue available grants to add the the very depleted income that is so desperately need to continue the work at the Lily Sanctuary

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Learning about so many parrot species, the friendships forged through the love of birds and seeing so many otherwise homeless birds get forever homes

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Awesome and dedicated

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Purchase an adequate facility with on site living quarters, a full time staff of caretakers including a vet, groomer, and cleaning staff

Ways to make it better...

Nothing to say here

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

MONEY! For the past 2 years the decline of donations has dropped over 50%. It is only by a miracle that they have been able to keep going to date.

One thing I'd also say is that...

There is no one more dedicated to these birds than Venette Hill. Dispite severe health challenges, she forges on through her own pain to see to it that the needs of these beautiful birds are met daily. The Hill's deserve a huge break!..ENOUGH FUNDING!

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every month
