Review for The Samburu Project Inc, Los Angeles, CA, USA
I visited the Samburu area in September 2011 as a professional photographer, to photograph the well projects of The Samburu Project and was very impressed with the teams that The Samburu Project has put together, both in Kenya and in the United States. Despite many dangers and obstacles, The Samburu Project has put in over a hundred wells and supervised their maintenance, educating the Samburu people how to keep up these valuable resources. I interviewed many people on this journey and was touched with how the access to clean drinking water has affected the region. Many young girls were able to stay in school which is one of the most important issues in all African nations toward cultural change, economic improvement, and amelioration of climate change. I have kept in touch with The Samburu Project over the years and become a donor, including adopting a young Samburu man as my "Godson." With the help of The Samburu Project's directors, my Godson is soon to be a University graduate and a certified teacher to serve his people. This is one of the most important changes of all - education so that they can help themselves. The Samburu Project has made this happen. A great contribution to the world, indeed.
