Review for Detroit Horse Power, Detroit, MI, USA
I am a parent to two children who have attend Detroit Horse Power's week long camps. They have learned a great deal about horses, their anatomy, how to ride, and how to care for the horses they ride. This program also encourages the children to make new friends, experience new things, and to become better people. Ironically this program has brought my children, (one of which is the program's first Autistic rider) and his sister closer together. They are 2 years apart in school, and they normally don't have anything in common... Until now. The program helps my son come out of his shell, and my daughter to share in his experiences, and they cooperatively work together.
This program would like to repurpose abandoned land in the city, to provide riding and bording to Detroit's citizens, but more importantly to Detroit's children. They want to offer children the opportunity to ride and enjoy horses, in their own community.
