My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for BEAGLE FREEDOM PROJECT, Valley Village, CA, USA
I work in biomedical research and whenever possible I work to see that animals are adopted out to loving families after a study. These studies are reviewed by institutional animal use boards, and are done for the medical benefit of humans and animals. If animals have been killed in a terminal study (i.e., cancer surgery research) I have worked to get the bodies donated to wildlife rehabilitators to feed injured and orphaned wildlife. I really like to see life celebrated and not wasted.
Unfortunately, this non-profit makes adopted animals into ambassadors against biomedical research, causing research labs to stop adoptions. This group's work had led to the needless killing of many animals that could otherwise have found homes. This group creates intimidation, scaring the laboratories that adopt out animals... in response the labs don't cease animal research, they stop adopting to avoid getting attacked publicly for doing valuable research.
Shameful that animals needlessly die because this group has had a chilling effect on adoption of retired research animals.
