Review for Labrador Rescuers, San Diego, CA, USA
When looking to adopt a dog I was overwhelmed by the amount of Rescues in San Diego County. I had no idea where to even start. After taking a look at all the websites for the rescues, I was attracted to Lab Rescuers due to the overwhelming love and hard work I could tell that the organization has for saving these dogs and giving them a new chance at life.
These volunteers that take the time out of their busy daily lives to help a Lab in need just blows me away. As an example, my beautiful girl Tillie (whom I adopted through this organization) was turned into a shelter in Riverside County. A Lab Rescue volunteer drove all the way up there to rescue her, another volunteer got her to a Veterinarian to be checked out, and then another wonderful volunteer fostered her. When you think about the amount of man hours that it took to rescue her, it was a lot of people’s time.
In addition, I appreciate that Lab Rescuers thoroughly reviews perspective applications and conducts home visits so the dogs are going to legit good homes. I also appreciate the fact that animals are fostered in homes so the needs of the dogs can be understood and they can be matched with the correct kind of home.
I think my most favorite part of this organization is the fact that there are “lifeboat labs”. Labs that the Rescue has saved but they are not able to actually be adopted. So in the meantime, they live out the last years of their lives in Lab Rescue Volunteer homes. This just makes my heart smile.
I would recommend this organization to anyone and I will definitely be adopting with them again.
