I live in Massachusetts so I've never been to the Rescue. I am part of Theresa's internet village. Theresa herself is a miracle story being an incomplete quadriplegic. She has personal experience facing her future lying in a bed unable to move. She understands that there IS hope and determination and the ability to overcome the impossible. Theresa has used that same personal experience with the animals she has saved. She can look in their eyes and see their soul, do they have the spirit to fight or are they beyond that? For those still able and wanting to fight, this rescue is there to aid them in any and every manner needed. For those that tell her they are not able to fight anymore, Theresa, who may have only known this animal for a couple of hours, remains with and loving the horse while the vet comes out.... She holds their heads as they cross over the Rainbow Bridge to join the BHFER herd that have already crossed. There are so many stories that have such horrific beginnings, but after Theresa and her village work their magic, that animal has a sparkle in their eyes and hold their heads so proud and happy!! It is truly worthy of reading some of the miracles stories and becoming part of the BHFER village.
