Review for Arabian Rescue Mission Inc, Leitchfeild, KY, USA
I originally approached Terry after suffering the personal loss of a beloved Arabian horse and, in wanting to preserve his memory by making a donation to a good, horse-related cause, I discovered the Arabian Rescue Mission (A.R.M.) A.R.M. is a wonderful organization that not only directly rescues horses, but helps horse lovers and communities become aware of the plight of these truly deserving animals, and offers solutions to this ever-growing issue with novel ideas and programs. Terry herself has dedicated her life to this goal; the amount of time she spends networking with individuals and other rescue organizations, fundraising, answering questions, coordinating shipments, arranging care for the rescued horses, manning the phone and social media, as well as the care of the rescued horses in her charge, is nothing short of extraordinary. I know of very few people who would be willing to sacrifice so much in the service of others for as long as Terry has done. Her unswerving commitment to making ethical and moral decisions for each horse, day in and day out, and with so much care/compassion, is truly inspiring. In this day and age of mistrust and misinformation, it's very comforting to know that organizations like ARM exist to provide support to those who cannot speak for themselves - wonderful Arabian horses that find themselves at risk of abuse, inhumane treatment and death in a slaughterhouse, through no fault of their own. Even though I'm a regular donor and occasional volunteer, I wish I had more time/money to dedicate to this exceptional cause.
