I have been to Mawanga, Uganda twice with ROWAN, and both times it has changed my life! The partnership between the US and the people of Mawanga is so beautiful and inspiring, and has taught me a lot about how to help those in poverty. They are making a difference in not just children's lives, but adults too! And that is rare! If you are thinking about missions (long- or short-term) I highly recommend starting with ROWAN! It is truly a model nonprofit!
