Review for All Border Collie Rescue, The Woodlands, TX, USA
Omg, how can I begin to describe this wonderful group that literally saved our boy's life (though, we didn't know him at the time). It is our understanding that Carson, was running the streets of Ft.Worth and was hit by a car. He was brought to the shelter where luckily, he was recognized for being the sweet boy that he is, even under the pain of a broken pelvis. The shelter called this wonderful group who took him with ALL of the problems he had and put out a call for help with his medical expenses. Donations came in and ABCR volunteers helped Carson, who was by all standards a very broken dog, and helped put him back together again! Marilyn, his foster mom went way and above the call of duty when she helped him to overcome his fears of cars, helped him rehabilitate after FHO surgery, and even stayed with him in the shower while helping him get over his kennel cough. At the time of his accident he weighed 30 pounds. He is now a normal, healthy 50 pounds. To say Carson was broken, was an understatement. This group did an amazing job of helping Carson and then set about to find a suitable home. When we started looking for a dog, we had lost our heart dog a few short months before after a long, and emotional battle with seizures and IMHA. We were truly as broken as Carson was. We wanted a dog to help keep our other dog company and we needed someone to love. Carson is all that and more. ABCR is an awesome nonprofit group that puts the dog's welfare first and works diligently to match the right dog into the right family. We cannot begin to thank these hard working and selfless volunteers for all they do and all that they have given us.
