Review for Friends of Public Radio Arizona, Tempe, AZ, USA
Without classical music I would probably go a little crazy. There are some kinds of music that can make up for a little of the loss (Show Tunes, 20's, 30's and 40's music) but the radio is not going to provide much of that. You can get these large platters (or other media) of music that play the same thing over and over on TV or on the internet) but soon that will drive you crazy with repetition. KBAQ, our classical public radio station keeps me sane. I can listen (mainly in the car and who knows how much time we spend in the car) while I'm driving and be a calm driver. And it's great I can go anywhere and keep in touch with my life via the internet. I lived where they played the same 400 great classical music over and over and was making me start to not like some music. Also they seldom played the movement together and that made the music seem unfinished. On KBAQ you have live people, a vast mixture of music and you can be surprised sometime. Please keep our public radio, alive, well and lively.
