Review for Information Technology Disaster Resource Center Inc, Fort Worth, TX, USA
On Thursday, June 23, 2016, torrential rains brought devastating floods to many parts of West Virginia, washing away whole communities. By Sunday afternoon, the ITDRC bus had arrived at the Volunteer West Virginia offices in Charleston to set up the Crisis Cleanup system. For the past month volunteers have reported to our office to take calls from people needing help with cleanup. The ITDRC folks also quickly set up computers, phone lines and other needed technology in different parts of the state that allowed Volunteer Reception Centers to open and operate. National and local volunteer teams have been able to use the Crisis Cleanup system to locate and help many flood victims. We have taken hundreds of calls requesting assistance. The ITDRC team has been invaluable in helping coordinate response to those impacted by the flood. The team has responded to questions and promptly informed us of any missed calls so that they could be returned. We could not have done so much so quickly or so efficiently without them.
