Amanda was very patient in letting me interact with a number of cats so that I could find one that would be at home with our family. Halibut was a year old stray who was a bit timid but seemed very lovable. I spent nearly an hour getting to know her and asked if I could bring my daughter in to meet her. Later that week my daughter came in and spent some quiet time getting to know Halibut and we knew we'd found our kitty! Never once did we feel rushed to make a choice. It was obvious that Halibut and the other animals were well cared for; the shelter is clean, the cats all have fresh water and soft blankets. The cats are neutered/spayed, have their shots and are micro chipped! Since adopting Halibut we've seen our vet who said she was in very good health and at a perfect weight. Our family is very happy with our newest member and we are even thinking of adding another kitty--and of course we will be going back to Lowell Humane Society!
