Review for North Texas Basset Hound Rescue, Grapevine, TX, USA
In 2010 I became a foster for NTBHR and Winston (aka Harvey) was my first. He had a rough past. The minute that boy was brought to my house for a "meet and greet," I knew he was not leaving. I officially adopted him on Mother's Day, and we have been a bonded pair ever since! Life went on and I tried fostering again in October 2014. This time I was getting a puppy mill mama from San Angelo. "Bessie" had to have 17 teeth pulled do to trying to chew her way out of the cage she lived in. She had a tummy that defied logic! Can you say "tummy tuck needed asap"! She knew nothing of living outside of a cage. As I introduced her to grass and many other things, she grew more confident. Then came the moment on Christmas morning when we were opening gifts and she just laid her sweet head in my lap and simply cuddled. I knew she was to be my girl, and I got on line and made it official. Winston and Bessie are such joy to me. So eager to please and to love. I'm so happy to have found them through NTBHR and I feel they are so grateful for a "second chance" at family.
