Review for Northern Jaguar Project, Tucson, AZ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been most impressed with the Northern Jaguar Project's work. They are a small, lean organization with a narrow focus but a huge vision. They have always been more than willing to answer my questions, provide information and promote cooperation among jaguar fanatics. Their Denver gathering brought together interested parties from the US and Mexico and the information shared and contacts made have proven invaluable to me. Diana, Turtle and the rest of the NJP staff are first-rate.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my jaguar blog's success. I have used NJP for information, photos and contacts, all of which have helped to make my blog successful.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

get them national visibility and a broader donor base.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

their openness. Many other groups are rather territorial but NJP has always been willing to help me and jaguars.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

helpful, friendly and dedicated. Diana, Turtle and JC are really nice people!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

buy even more land in Sonora for jaguars, provide more education & services to the local population in Mexico and increase the organization's visibility.

Ways to make it better...

I can't think of anything.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

lack of funds, the political baggage that comes with jaguars, the border wall and the continuing tensions between the US and Mexico.

One thing I'd also say is that...

NJP rocks.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every month

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010

Role:  General Member of the Public & I run a blog on jaguars and reached out to NJP.
