Once again we are foster failures, and are adopting a new fur baby from SSRR. This organization has done everything they can to ensure that Sassy, our new girl, will be happy and healthy in the future. When Sassy came to us she had a torn cruciate ligament as well as a torn meniscus. SSRR covered the cost of surgery as they do for many of the Rottweilers and Rottweiler Mixes they rescue.

SSRR is a well-run charitable all volunteer organization. They are dedicated to finding great homes for as many Rottweilers and Rottweiler mixes as possible. They cover all initial medical costs to ensure that any adopted dog is as healthy as possible. SSRR does all that they can to ensure that the adopted dog and family are a good match, and will follow through with any assistance they can. My husband and I have adopted 2 wonderful dogs through Southern States Rescued Rottweilers.
We volunteer to assist with transports, and participate actively in fundraisers.

We have adopted 2 wonderful Rottie boys from SSRR. They are a great rescue organization and seem to be willing to work with other rescues to help as many dogs as possible. They do thorough background/vet checks on potential adopters and foster homes. I have stayed in contact with some of the people from SSRR and consider them friends. My husband and I have assisted with transporting dogs to new homes when they are passing through our area. This is a stellar group of people doing great works for our canine friends.

We adopted our Brewy, known as Brucey to SSRR, over 2 years ago. Brewy had come from a horrific backgroung--nobody really knew what he had been through--just that he had been confiscated by the Fulton County, GA police, was very malnourished, HW+, and I would assume full of fleas. Brewy was also not socialized at all. He didn't understand that human touch could be a good thing.
It took 3-months before he willingly wanted us to touch him. SSRR warned us that he would be a difficult case, and that he would not be a cuddly pet right from the start. Both Bill Lawton and his foster dad, Ian Leemans, made sure that we understood just how much work we might face if we adopted this poor abused dog. We adopted Brewy after going through a thorough background check.
Even after more than 2 years, we have new break throughs every day. Sometimes we discover a little more of what we suspect might have been done to him, or maybe he will ask for just a little more love. He still has room for improvement, but he is who he is and we will always love and cherish him. I would not change what Brewy has brought into our lives for anything.
Brewy had a sister who was adopted by a couple in a different state. I am facebook friends with her adopted mom as well as Brewy's foster dad. If I could adopt another or foster through SSRR I would, and maybe will someday.
