Review for Cascades Raptor Center, Eugene, OR, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Staff and volunteers are passionately committted to the care and rehabiliation of raptors that have been damaged and unable to return to their habitat without the intervention of experts who can evaluate their chances of survival on their own. The Raptor Center provides rehabilitatation and care for the duration of their stay. If a raprot must remain at the Center, they are expertly cared for and used for education projects to enable the public to become familiar with this species. The center is successful in inspiring a devoted cadre of volunteers who assist with care and raise funds to sustain the Center and its mission. The Center does a superb job in all these undertakings and should be helped and encouraged to continue their efforts on behalf of our precious wildlife.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

developing an excellent education program for visitors and school children to help them learn about raptor behaviour in the wild, threats to their existance and what can be done to protect them.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

increase staff levels and habitats to allow for expanded education programs and maintenance of the Center habitiat structures.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The dedication of the staff to the Center mission and contact with the resident raptors.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

outstanding in thier knowledge and generosity.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Expand and upgrade the existing poperty and its structures, improve its educationl outreach efforts and awareness programs, care for more injured raptors.

Ways to make it better...

There were more staff to help with the education program.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

sustainability due to lack of sufficient funds.

One thing I'd also say is that...

this organization deserves to be recognized as one of the best non-profits supporting, conserving and protecting our environment.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every six months
