I was introduced to Angels against Abuse through a case that I had involving a 3 year old girl who was removed from her Mother, who was living in a Group Home at the time. The baby girl was removed at a few months old as the Mother was unable to provide a safe environment due to her problems. The child was in a foster home for 2 years then switched to a new foster home where she had adjustment problems. To make a long story shorter, the child was reunited with her Mother, who in the interim had another child with the Father. This is where Angels stepped in. The case manager from Angels was extremely helpful in ensuring that the children had clothing, bedding, even food and that the Mother followed up on her case plan - particularly parenting skills. The happy ending is that the Mother was given full custody and the GAL program was no longer involved. I do not believe this would have happened without the support and encouragement of the Angel.
