My mom, daughter, and I attended the Mommy and Me Retreat at Jekyll Island. We adopted a little boy with Down Syndrome over 2 years ago. Before then my, now 11 year old, daughter had been an only child. While the adoption has been amazing for our family, our life has changed to accommodate our son and his needs...which means our daughter had to take a back seat for a little bit. She's taken her big sister role in stride and has really stepped up in helping out around the house and with her brother. Even though she had been amazing, I know all of these changes have been hard for her. This retreat weekend was an opportunity for her to feel pampered and special and for the women of our family to relax and bond. The experience was an unforgettable one for us and we made memories we'll treasure for a lifetime! We are thankful for A Mother's Rest for providing an affordable getaway for us! We are hoping to making this an annual trip!

We found the boy who would become our son on Reece's Rainbow. Everyone is very professional and dedicated to finding homes for all of the children who are listed...and beyond. I also found a community of other adoptive families and others who believe in the cause of adoption and were willing to advocate for them! We were able to be fully funded for our adoption due to the assistance of Reece's Rainbow's grant program and we couldn't be more pleased or thankful!!
