Review for Voices for Biodiversity, El Prado, NM, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Voices for Biodiversity is playing an extremely important role in the environmental movement. They are one of the few organizations making the point that the loss of biodiversity is as important to the sustainability of the planet, and, ultimately, the survival of the human species, as climate change. The articles and photo galleries are high quality, informative, and insightful. And their advisory board has some of the top names in the field.

It is an organization based on a unique vision for protecting the planet's ecosystem. The talents and enthusiasm of the people involved with running the project give it a dynamism that is impressive. And the range of people excited by the concept, as evidenced by the followers on Facebook and the Izilwane website, is encouraging at such an early stage in the organization's development. This is an important idea backed by innovative ideas and innovative thinkers.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

its postings on the internet through Facebook and its own website. This outreach is increasing awareness of how humans can have a positive rather than negative impact on animals and the ecosystem.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

quit and turn over the management to the people now running it.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

being part of a dynamic new vision and working with dedicated, creative people.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

young, excited, dedicated, talented and creative.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change the world – by getting more humans to see themselves as another species of animal, rather than as special and above the ecosystem, and then taking that awareness and applying it to direct action for the planet and its animals.

Ways to make it better...

the organization had more financial support so that it could hire full-time admin help. There are opportunities being missed because of not having enough paid staff.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

funding and funding. It has everything else for success: a great idea, dedicated staff and volunteers, creative thinking, strategic planning.

One thing I'd also say is that...

there is no other organization with this message – a message that could take a person's innate caring for animals and make it a powerful motivator to help protect the planet's animals and ecosystem.
