Review for Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue, San Jose, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I've been volunteering with Mickaboo for almost two years now but have been aware of the group for much longer than that. The folks involved with Mickaboo are the kindness, most generous people I've ever had the pleasure in meeting. The focus of Mickaboo is to rescue and find forever homes for all types of birds; the best part is once a Mickaboo bird always a Mickaboo bird. 100% of the funds raised go towards vet bills for sick and injured birds, and I've never seen a sick bird turned away no matter what the illness was. If you want a bird or just want to help some of the sweetest creatures on earth please help out Mickaboo.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the fact that there are 100's of bay area birds that have homes that would have been put to sleep otherwise at shelters.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

not change a thing. The people who help out with Mickaboo are the best.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the group of people is the kindess and most generous I've ever dealt with.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Very dedicated to helping birds find better homes.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

create a bird santuary like the Oasis in Arizona so that all of the birds who were either waiting for a forever home or just needed to live with other birds had a home.

Ways to make it better...

It's impossible to make my experiences any better.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Like all non-proffits they need more money and they also need more foster homes for birds because more and more birds are losing their homes due to the poor economy.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Mickaboo is the best group of people I've ever had the pleasure knowing.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2008

Role:  Volunteer & Adopted, fostered, and assisted in rescues of birds. Most recently I helped with a rescue of 120 aviary birds.
