In 2013, the folks at FAF rescued a wiry, spitting feral kitten from under a porch. After several months of attentive and loving foster care, he was not only in perfect health, but an incredibly outgoing, people-friendly kitty, who loved to be held and cuddled and got on great with other animals. We adopted him that summer, and he became the love of our lives; he greeted us at the door, curled up in our arms at night, followed us around the house chirping insistently until we picked him up for cuddles, and generally spent every moment showering us with affection. We are so grateful to FAF not only for rescuing this sweet baby, but also for volunteering their time and homes to foster him until he was ready for adoption. Feral cats have such unfairly negative reputations, but thanks to their efforts, he became the best animal companion we could ever have hoped to meet.

I adopted a feral kitten from FAF two and half years ago, and my life has never been the same. The volunteers at FAF take such excellent care of their fosters and put so much love into socializing them that Ezio came to us friendly and fearless, and integrated flawlessly into our home. He's been an amazing little brother to our older cat, and helped her to be less shy and neurotic around other creatures, and has been the absolute sweetest cat I've ever had--he's all cuddles all the time, with everyone, and rarely leaves my side when I am home. It's pretty gratifying to be greeted at the door with enthusiastic purrs by a gigantic fluffy cat who wants nothing more than to curl up in your lap for a couple hours. I'm so grateful for the work the FAF volunteers put into his early care, from rescuing him and his family from the house under which they were sleeping up through his fostering and socialization--without them, he could've been just another sad story of a trapped cat euthanized in a shelter. He's brought so much love and joy into our lives, and I can't thank FAF enough for making it possible.
