Review for The Raptor Trust, Millington, NJ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Years ago I found a great horned owl sitting on a log next to my driveway. I felt this was not the proper thing for a big bird to be doing. I got a blanket, covered, and picked up the owl put her in a box and called the Raptor Trust. The founder,Lenny Souci, answered the phone and told me to come right down. My first encounter with the Raptor trust was very positive. Lenny was extremely attentive to the welfare of this bird. I can still see the love and compassion he shared that night.
Throughout the years, I have visited the facility and attended several of their educational lectures...Including the terrific Owl Walk.
Lenny's son is now the director. He has the passion and expertise of his dad. If I did not live so far away, I certainly would volunteer my time to help in the rehabilitation of these magnificent birds.

Review for Antler Ridge Wildlife Sanctuary, Newton, NJ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been volunteering at Antler Ridge Wildlife Sanctuary for at least 11 years...the last 6 as a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. The animals who find their way to the sanctuary, with the help of a compassionate person, are usually either orphaned, injured, or both. All receive the care they require for a successful release back into the wild to live the healthy life that nature intended. For me, saying 'Good bye' is frequently bittersweet because these are creatures that have touched my heart.
Throughout this ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, selfless volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure that the sanctuary was able to remain open and accept animals in need. Their dedication to serving Mother Nature was amazing!
Since we do not receive federal or state funding, this would not be possible without donations from people who are concerned about the survival of the wild ones who share our planet.
Antler Ridge Wildlife Sanctuary is truly an amazing place...with amazing people...and amazing animals.

Review for Antler Ridge Wildlife Sanctuary, Newton, NJ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been volunteering at Antler Ridge Wildlife Sanctuary for nearly seven years and I am constantly impressed by the individualized care and compassion the animals receive. All of the creatures at our facility are afforded the best treatment by a dedicated staff of volunteers and apprentices,
veterinarian Dr Karen, and most notably Kelly, our hands-on director. All of the animals that find themselves at Antler Ridge are given a second chance at life to live free and healthy as the wild beings they are!
