Such a great organization, an expliary beacon for the arts in the greater DC area. WMPA is an outstanding organization made up of several different orchestras for different ages and skills, from student orchestras to the highly-regarded Philharmonic, which has had a presence beyond the normal concert hall to include performances at benefit concerts, charity/outreach/community, galas, commemorations, and dedications throughout the region. Ulysses James, the conductor and musical director, founded WMPA in the early 1980s, and is the heart and soul of the group. A very worthwhile organization.
