Over the past several years I have had the good fortune to help support the efforts of Cross Creek Alpaca Rescue in several large scale events and many, many more smaller small scale re-homing, relocation, mentoring and teaching events. They are focused, and compassionate in their dealings with alpacas, and yes to a lesser degree llamas, but more importantly remember that more often than not the people involved are struggling with complicated emotional and physical circumstances beyond their control. The human understanding side of the equation is as important as the animal care side of things...something animal "rescue" groups sometimes forget. It has been a pleasure supporting their efforts and I am proud to say they are a part of our community.
