Review for National Brussels Griffon Rescue Incorporated, Dallas, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My sister, who volunteers with NBGR, one time asked me if I could keep a puppy for a few days because a family not far from me was desperate to get rid of it. I said sure, and Milo was dropped off very soon after. His hair was tangled and matted, but he was utterly delighted to meet us! From his boundless geniality and enthusiasm, you'd never guess he'd spent the previous 7 months in a puppy mill, a pet store, and a home where he was unwanted and neglected. In fact, he was so sweet and outgoing and lovable that we quickly realized we couldn't possibly part with him. That was 12 years ago, and Milo is still as super-friendly and cuddly and dear to us as ever. We will always be grateful to NBGR for bring him into our lives!!

PS Over the years, I have observed my sister in action on behalf of this group and have heard many rescue stories. The time, effort, and love these volunteers put into their work is truly inspiring! The people she works with are the kind who would jump in the car and drive for hours to fetch/deliver a dog in need - or would say yes on the spot when asked to foster a challenging rescue with costly health problems. In other words, they LOVE dogs and are fierce in advocating for their welfare. The volunteers are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful to those seeking canine companions - but the bottom line is not accommodating the people but ensuring that every dog goes to a safe, loving home.

Brilliant idea, wonderfully executed. They save lives, they save money, they train animals (good for animals and people). I am really impressed by this group!

Brilliant idea, wonderful people running things. My favorite ngo. I adopted a rat and am so glad to be part of this effort.
