Review for Rocket Dog Rescue, San Francisco, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have many good things to say about this amazing organization. Rocket Dog Rescue is an all-volunteer nonprofit group dedicated to saving homeless and abandoned animals from euthanasia in overcrowded Bay Area shelters. This dedicated, hard-working group literally gives dogs a second chance at life. Rocket Dog Rescue places non-aggressive dogs into temporary foster homes where they are socialized, spay/neutered, vaccinated, and treated for any medical or behavioral conditions which would otherwise limit their adoptability. They then actively seek out permanent quality homes for these deserving animals through our volunteer network, online adoption page, weekend adoption fairs, and neighborhood poster campaigns. Founded in 2001 by Bay Area animal activist Pali Boucher, Rocket Dog Rescue is a 501-C3 nonprofit supported completely by donations. As an all-volunteer, home-based organization you can feel good knowing that every dime of your donation goes to helping dogs in need. Rocket Dog Rescue's ultimate goal is to help create a world where all companion animals have loving and permanent homes. A world where no good-natured companion animal, no matter what their age, are killed in shelters because they are considered surplus or unadoptable. They also strive to make eco-friendly and vegetarian choices whenever possible. Check out their website at: www.rocketdogrescue.org You can get involved by adopting, volunteering or donating—they truly deserve your support!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

...the grateful faces of dogs given a chance to love and trust another human again.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

... I would buy ten vans to help RDR save even more dogs.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

is their heart and can-do-attitude. Rocket Dog Rescue takes many of the dogs other rescue groups pass over.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

...all about saving dogs!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

... rock this world and rule the universe!

Ways to make it better...

...sometimes they are hard to get ahold of because they are always so busy saving dogs and helping others

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

...to secure a more reliable funding base open their own Urban Sanctuary

One thing I'd also say is that...

... Pali Boucher is truly a patron saint to animals in need.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2008
