My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for CityScience, Brooklyn, NY, USA
I started working as a volunteer for CityScience during my senior year of my undergraduate degree. At the time I was at a crossroads in determining my career goals. Yet, during my short tenure at CityScience (approximately 6 months), a profound impact was made on me. There I realized that I wanted to join both my areas of interest-educational research and geo-science, into one.
I saw how deeply invested and truly compassionate CityScience was in the development of childhood science education. Thor, the head of CityScience, continously works with a sense of charm and perseverance to achieve the degree of high altruism CityScience has today. However, he does this with full autonomy, volunteers that believe in the mission of CityScience, and minimal resources. If CityScience had more external resources, to match the internal motivation they exude, I believe it would continue to further their goal of developing/improving our urban science education among the leaders of tomorrow.
Those of you reading this, I hope that you further investigate CityScience. I promise you will not be disappointed.
