There are few opportunities in your life that leave you breathless. I say that because when you encounter a Wounded Warrior that has been touched once again in their life with the inner spirit that drives them to be great- it’s breath taking to watch. That very thing happens to every Wounded Warrior that jumps out of a plane at event like Jumping for a Purpose; whether for the first time in their life or for the first time since they’ve experienced catastrophic wounds on the battle field- it’s breath taking to watch. Or the moment you see a Wounded Warrior that has sustained injuries that make them look a little different from the rest of us stand up in a crowded room and recognize that it’s okay, and they’re okay and that they can be proud of how they look- it’s breath taking to watch. Wounded Wear and the Combat Wounded Coalition are the very organization that are doing that for Wounded Warriors all over our country each and every day. They are powered by so many Moms and Dads, husbands and wives, gold star families and countless other volunteers that truly care. Just look at the posts either here or all over the internet from Wounded Warriors that praise what this organization has done for them. Listen to the stories that carry on to this day in places like Walter Reed National Naval Medical Center about the spirit of hope that once again is in reach because of the people at Wounded Wear that have devoted their lives empowering combat wounded service members. Having been on Active Duty my entire adult life I know how important this organization truly is. If you’re looking for an organization to volunteer with- you’ve found it. If you’re looking for a cause to support- this is it.
