Review for W.O.M.A.N., Inc. - Women Organized to Make Abuse Non Existent Inc, San Francisco, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

W.O.M.A.N. Inc. is such a positive organization in the San Francisco and Mission community. They connect with over 7,000 callers each year. The staff is the most compassionate and caring, resourceful, and knowledgeable about DV support. Some of the support they provide are education, community outreach, training, drop-in support, and therapy for survivors and their families. They support a very diverse community that are welcoming of all people regardless of sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, and color.

They offer a Latinx program that provides community outreach and education. They work closely with the Domestic Violence Information & Referral Center (DVIRC) to help their clients connect to other organizations for additional needs like shelters, financial, and legal support.

Everyone that works or volunteers at the organization is caring, compassionate and well respected in the DV community.

Since joining the board last year, I have been impressed with the long term vision and impact they have on the San Francisco Bay area community. W.O.M.A.N. Inc.’s strengths are demonstrated through their leadership and innovative programs and partnerships. The commitment of volunteers, staff, and Board as pivotal change agents in providing intervention and improving access to high quality care and services (therapy, support groups, Latina program, volunteer program, drop-in support/ 24 hour support line, crisis intervention, peer counseling, Domestic Violence Information & Referral Center) for all lives impacted by domestic violence.

W.O.M.A.N. Inc. serves 15,000 people each year. Services are available in both English and Spanish. Their reach is beyond amazing!

You won’t find people that are more passionate, committed, and dedicated to go above and beyond to provide support, care, and indeed life changing services.
