Review for Cochise Canine Rescue, Pomerene, AZ, USA
to find a rescue of quality is a rare thing in the state of AZ. There are a few good ones. Cochise goes above and beyond. I do much networking in the rescue community, donate towards professional evals of dogs that may be improperly listed, and have a special affinity for the older dogs, and the one with health issues as those seem to be the hardest to place.
Cochise took in a dog that went in and out of the shelter system, who had his leg amputated, a hernia and was fearful to boot. They took him into their sanctuary and are prepared to keep him for life, to feed, love and take care of him medically. No one else was coming for this beautiful boy after being months at shelter, and they stepped up.
They most recently took in a blind senior boy found with wire around his neck, and have integrated him into their pack. They are not afraid to take in what most consider to be the "throw aways" senior dogs, animals that have valley fever, are blind, have renal issues etc. They take care of all their medical and other needs. Many are adopted out to wonderful foster homes, and they have some beautiful older and medical animals in their home. They are a rare find in a rescue these days, when so many only focus on puppies, and so called easily adoptables... more so the quality of the care they give exceeds many.
