Review for Helping Every American Remember Through Serving, Huntsville, TX,

Rating: 5 stars

I am a Veteran, US Army and US Army Reserve, and was very impressed the first time I visited HEARTS Veterans Museum of Texas about 8 ago. I now volunteer as often as my work schedule allows. As a Veteran, this Museum makes my heart swell with pride and feel that my service for my country is appreciated. The museum has grown and doubled and tripled and now resides in a beautiful, new 12,000 sq ft building. This Veterans Museum is an educational museum dedicated to teaching children and adults the roll our Veterans have played to keep this great country a free nation. Freedom is not Free! Someone must pay the price. The H.E.A.R.T.S. (Helping Every American Remember Through Serving) Veterans Museum of Texas does not purchase its artifacts. They have all been donated by the Veterans or their families, etc. They display them with the Veterans information and personal stories whenever possible. The front desk is occupied by Veteran volunteers and the tours are conducted by Veterans. There is never a charge for a Veteran to visit and they are encouraged to visit as often as possible and sit and talk with the volunteers working that day. I am so proud to be a part of this great Museum. Keith D. Persoon

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing Veterans that needed help, receiving that help. I have seen and personally experienced the feeling of pride, peace and well being that sitting and talking to Heroes from WWII, Korean War and the Vietnam War that are all volunteers at the Museum.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

getting to personally know the great Veterans that volunteer and frequent the Museum. I love history and especially military history so I have enjoyed learning more about specific battles and the different branches of the military.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

excited and honored to be a part of this organization. They are all willing to do training and learn about the different areas in the Museum and the artifacts displayed.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

continue to operate w/o spending every day trying to raise enough money. We could do more to help the Veterans in Walker County and surrounding area. We could send more Care Packages to our Troops overseas and in Hospitals and Rehab Centers.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every month
