Our beloved cat, Sylvan, was missing. After calling and searching the trees and acreage with no results, my son and I began to be really worried. We had visions of coyotes and speeding cars. Then we wondered if he was visiting a neighbor. Sylvan is an affectionate and bold kitty. He's neutered but he still likes to wander. We live on ten acres but sometimes that isn't enough for him.
We decided to post our lost cat online. It gave us hope and something useful to do while feeling worried and helpless. We located the chip number and a suitable picture. Our options for description weren't great but the picture would show him in all his glory. He is mostly white with orange tiger splotches. Then we got ready for bed. Before I had even turned off the light, I heard him call from outside. I opened the door and a flash of white hurried past me to the food dish.
What a relief. I picked him up and rushed to my son's room with him. The cat was squinty-eyed with pleasure. We were over-joyed. We updated our post and snuggled with Sylvan and stayed up way too late. Happy.
