Review for Cochise Canine Rescue, Pomerene, AZ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

How does one rate a non-profit over another when there are literally hundreds all trying to help the thousands of animals in need crying for a human of their own? It 's not an easy task, rating one over the other... unless of course we are speaking of Cochise Canine Rescue (CCR.)

It's non-profits such as CCR, is why we ourselves never became a 501c3 (true story) as we felt our role was better served supporting non-profits such as CCR. But more importantly, out of all the non-profits we have worked with over the last fifteen years, CCR ranks as one of the top on our list of the hundreds asking for help (respectfully.) There are not many people like Sybil and Jeff who have dedicated their lives, working tirelessly to ensure that not only does each animal get the care that they need; but that they are protected in a loving environment conducive to the animals' healing and growth. -And- they treat each and every animal they come across with the grace, compassion and respect they deserve.

Even with a full rescue plate at hand, Sybil goes above and beyond the call of duty. There are not many rescuers these days when called upon, would make themselves as available as Sybil has when it has come to another animal in need. I don't know what I would have done without her knowledge and experience over the years when it has come to the challenging four leggeds that have come across our doors. It has been nothing less than an honor to be able to support and foster for CCR over the years -and- been able to give back.

Great rescue! Amazing rescuers! We need more non profits like CCR!

To Whom It May Concern,

I have worked with many rescues in the Arizona area, but Cochise Canine Rescue is one of my top five favorites. I have known Sybil Erden for years now professionally, and she takes the utmost care of all the animals that are lucky enough to cross her doors going above and beyond the call of duty. She treats each on of her rescues with the compassion and respect these four leggeds deserve, and her rescue is one of the few that operates not only on integrity, but also takes care of each and every one of her rescues as if they are her own never neglecting them, always having them come first, many times above her own needs. She not only takes care of those that are in her rescue, but the countless other animals in need of a safe haven constantly networking them with others such as myself, to help ensure a new home to save as many as she can.

Sybil has been at this for a long time, and is no stranger to hard work and getting the job done. Her and Jeff have dedicated themselves to the rescue of those in need, not stopping just at dogs and cats. She has been known to help livestock as well who have had no place to go making sure their surroundings were safe, and when times have called for, making sure not one of her animals ever feels alone. I have not met a more dedicated rescue, not saying others are not, I am just saying she has dedicated her life to this work and it shows.

I know I already reviewed CCR, but that was back in 2015. Sometimes you need to renew your vows to something, your dedication to something or someone, to not only bring attention back to it, but to solidify how strongly you feel about something worthy enough to share with others. I can't say enough about CCR and the two that run this rescue, Sybil and Jeff.

When you open your door to rescue animals, it doesn't just stop there - one opens their hearts, and leaves their egos at the door. One gives up what most people take for granted. Your time is not your time anymore. You are devoted to those animals who have no other place to go giving them a renewed sense of worth and love that they either have lacked, or were pushed aside because their owners didn't care anymore or ever did - some left at trash cans, abused for sport, others just abandoned in the desert to die, and for the lucky ones, if you can call it that, left at the shelter shaking, scared, confused, missing the owners they will never see again.

Rescues like CCR go above and beyond the call of duty. They love each and every dog as if they are the only dog on the planet. If you are considering donating to a rescue, I would HIGHLY SUGGEST you consider CCR, and if you can, go on their monthly donation schedule. I have been working with CCR for years. I have come to know Sybil and Jeff personally. They have dedicated their lives to the rescue of animals, and it's not very often they will turn one in need away. That is why your donation is so important. All the money goes to the care of these animals. They not only give them the love and medical care they need, but they also make sure each and every home their rescues go to are well vetted. They take the time to do background and home checks to ensure their animals are going to a viable, loving home.

One of the best non-profits in the state if you ask me because they have integrity. I can say that as I have fostered for CCR for years. I can't say that about all rescues, but I can certainly say that about CCR.

Pictured below are my 7 in sanctuary due to either medical or behavioral issues that are not adoptable. Not including the 4 cats I have that had no place to go. Aside from those pictured, I have fostered animals that have come and gone throughout the years - through the help of CCR. I have been involved in rescue for years now and just when you think you have seen it all, you haven't. Rescue work can be extremely heartbreaking, but holds so many rewards! Nothing better than looking into the eyes of an animal after the animal realizes he/she's been rescued. No words. It's god felt!

Consider a donation today. It will be money well spent. God Bless!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I wouldn't.

I have been very involved in the rescue community in Arizona now for over eight years. I am called upon daily for help as I have made a name for myself within the rescue community. It is from that point of long term rescue commitment and involvement that I write:

I have met very few real deal's who have left their ego at the door and their heart completely open without an agenda. Cochise Canine Rescue is one of the few unspoken hero's in the rescue community in southern
Arizona that operates with their heart completely open without an agenda, other than helping animals in need: The abandoned ones, the abused ones, the ones who were left for trash and those who were dumped at the shelter.

Cochise Canine Rescue changes lives, informing the Arizona rescue community of what is taking place in the world of animal rescue in smaller communities in Arizona. Sybil Erden, CCR's co-founder and rescue coordinator, is, hands down, one of the most remarkable woman I have met in the rescue community, whose integrity and intelligence runs deep. She doesn't just say yes when it comes to an animal. She says YES I CAN AND DOES AND WILL.

Cochise Canine Rescue leads by example with the integrity that one is either born with or not, and is an organization lead by people who inspire me to continue on even when facing adversity and pain .

The care they give their animals is not just a 9-5, feed and release care. Cochise Canine Rescue gives ALL their animals 24/7 love, compassion, respect and honor. The selfless work Cochise Canine Rescue does with these animals is not only commendable, but well deserving of any support this rescue can attain.

Respectfully,
Skye Rivers
