Review for FLAGSHIP DETROIT FOUNDATION, Southlake, TX, USA
This group has fully restored the oldest flying DC-3 aircraft in the the world to its 1937 glory. Through the generosity of the volunteers and donors this historic airplane is now available at air shows throughout the country for viewing and for local rides for Foundation members. The airplane is beautiful and the volunteer pilots and guides are a superb group of vintage airplane fans.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
numerous airshow and local educational venues.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the smiles on peoples faces, especially those who have personal memories of flying during that era of aviation history.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
very knowledgeable and enthusiastic
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
build a dedicated hangar and museum and hire full-time mechanics
Ways to make it better...
there were enough funds to fly it to more air shows.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
funding requirements
One thing I'd also say is that...
This group is maintaining a real classic airplane that is an historical artifact that the entire country should have the opportunity to experience.
