My Nonprofit Reviews
I'm writing a support letter on behalf of Neighbors of Seaton Place Inc. My name is Ella McCall Haygan and I'm a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a Masters Degree in Social Work. I've been voluneering with Neighbors of Seaton Place Inc. for the past five years. They are an outstanding organization. Mrs. Cleopatra Jones is the founder of the organization, along with other Neighbors of Seaton Place in Ward 5.in Washington, D.C. Due to drug-related shootings, drug trafficking, youth gangs, and school drop outs, Mrs. Jones demanded something be done immediately about the drug trafficking in her neighborhood. The Neighbors of Seaton Place Inc. was informally organized in 1995. Today the program provides valuable intellectual capital resources and volunteer time. The programs consist of many support services, that meets the needs of children and their families. The program provides strategies for prevention and solutions to problems, such as teen drinking, teen pregancies, drugs, crime and violence. They provide high quality, researched-based programs that meet the needs of the children and their families. NSP provides, preparatory services, literacy, job training and readiness and job placement, employment, intership/apprenticeships higher education, guidance, counseling, and basic literacy, life-skills training are all tools deploy to advance these goals. Travel expose the chidren to new awareness by promoting an interest in higher learning and the broader society. Mentoring, community service, leadership. Training program, working with computerized sewing and embroidery machines, entrepreneurial high-tech digitized software, computerized custom embroidery designs for wearable art, clothing, quilt making, gifts, and specialty items. The training is a preventive program against violence. We teach students how to work together as a team and develop leadership skills. Neighbors of Seaton Place Inc.is an excellent run organization, with a very dedicated Director, Board and volunteers.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
provide, scholarships to their students, help the families,(working poor)and buy a building.
