Review for Newark Public Radio Inc, Newark, NJ, USA
WBGO is a national treasure -- one of the few public radio stations left that plays real jazz and blues. And their news department is first-rate, too. I don't know how I would get through my day without it. I've been listening for about 20 years and for over a dozen years was lucky enough to volunteer at the station during the fund drives. There I met the wonderful people that are the heart of WBGO. As a member, I know I'm really part of something wonderful. Thanks, BGO, for making every day better.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
listening to the station on the radio, on the Web, and no on my iPhone. I love that they are on the forefront of technology to get this great American art form out to everyone around the world.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Meeting the staff of the station through my volunteer work. They made me feel my work was important and appreciated. A great experience for anyone who loves jazz and wants to give back.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
a wonderfully diverse, creative and dedicated group of people.
Ways to make it better...
it was an easier commute from NYC. :-)
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
There is not a lot of financial support for public jazz radio stations. There is an audience out there, but the jazz listening audience does not gives as much or as readily as the classical music audience.
