Review for Half Moon Sober Festival Incorporated, Derry, NH, USA
Half moon festival is my favorite event of the year. A kick off to summer with a weekend of dedicated volunteers providing warm welcomes and a safe and nurturing atmosphere to all ages with one rule no drugs or alcohol, plenty of music, educational workshops from 12 step recovery to yoga and spiritual topics, Kids activites, hiking, horseshoes, you name it there is a possibility its there. Don't feel like cooking? The main stage has food venders, and always unique items and services. I have attended solo, in small gruops and with my family. I have vended, taught workshops and learned how to dance. My favorite music performer is Leroy White with his inspiration of love and light and helping each other and all those suffering thruogh out the world to those willing to make a difference. The festival is a camping adventure I have attended 11 staright years I have been at 4 or more locations from race tracks, boy scount camps, to now being in the heart of the white mountains. The weather is the only thing they can't control been in rain storms, wind storms and heat waves. The endurance of the staff all volunteer don't quit.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Learning how to get out of my comfort zone, learn how to dance, drum, and meet some of the most amazing individuals and non profit gruops all about empowering change.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The energy, the perservance. the guts, the creativness that is so visable.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
A group of 10-12 board members meet all year and take thier vacations from thier own jobs to put on a 4 day event for individuals and families to bond, explore and experience life without the use of alcohol and drugs. The volunteers live by example.
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
