Review for Shared Hope International, Vancouver, WA, USA
I was lead to Shared Hope because when I returned to the USA after a lengthy 30-year stay away, and where child abuse, trafficking of children and domestic violence were all to obvious, I was dismayed to learn how huge the same problems are here. Shared Hope's mission is to eradicate sex trafficking of children. My first look at their website showed me the Protected Innocence Challenge, a SHI research project that assesses the sex trafficking laws that are in place in each state and how well those laws are enforced. The states then earn a grade from 'A to F' on their performance. My state, California, which holds 3 out of 13 of the highest FBI designated trafficking locations nationwide, and now for 4 years running, got an 'F'. I said, "I can do something about that!" So I joined other Ambassadors of Hope nationwide, and internationally, and now go into the community raising awareness about the sex trafficking of our USA children and working on legal issues as well. You can become a Defender too. If you are in WA state and in some additional countries, SHI also has shelters and rescue and restoration capabilities where you can help. Taking Action against child sex trafficking is the only way to beat it.
