My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for The Starving Artist Theatre, Arlington, VA, USA
I've been both a participant (as a performer) and an audience member of several Starving Artist Theatre's productions. I've nothing but a glowing review for this non-profit theatre company and its quality work and staff. As an actor, Starving Artist gave me my first professional acting opportunity. It exposed me to the rigor of the theatre at that level, as well as fueling the fire of passion for the stage and the craft. The Company gave me invaluable connection -connections that would have been otherwise next-to-impossible to come by- and opened doors for me professionally and artistically. As an audience member, I am consistently amazed by the quality of work and spirit that go into each Starving Artist production. Starving Artist genuinely serves to fill an important niche in the artistic community.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
my performing career as well in personal ways.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the lasting friendships, memories and exposure to new things professionally and personally.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
friendly, passionate, professional, and endlessly encouraging.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
really revolutionize the theatre culture of the Washington, DC area.
Ways to make it better...
Starving Artist had had the means by which to expand their reach and put on bigger shows.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
the same as in any other non-profit--namely, fund-raising and finding consistent fiscal support.
