Review for Avenues 12 Women's Recovery Houses, Daytona Beach, FL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I had been in and out of rehab centers so many times I lost count. I even lived in various "sober" houses, but those only lasted at most a month and I was right back out again. I came into Avenues 12 very broken and straight from detox. I had nowhere else to go. My family dis-owned me, I lost custody of my three children, no friends because I had lied and disappointed everyone far too many times. I thought Aves 12 had a lot of rules when I first got there, but - boy, that is exactly what I needed! Structure, responsibility, accountability, no more secrets. I was welcomed and loved by the women instantly who loved me until I could learn to love myself. The home was/is beautiful - looks like Better Homes and Gardens! I wanted to get better, be stable, work the steps, and have a life again. I stayed 11 months, which actually felt like 2 months.... When I left Aves, I had regained custody of my children again, was invited back home by my family and landed an amazing job in my field. When it comes right down to it, I owe everything to Avenues 12. Yes, its true, I did some work, but had it not been for Avenues 12, the program and the structure ... I am quite certain I would be either homeless, in jail or dead. I love this place and HIGHLY recommend this Recovery House to ANYONE who wants to be sober and learn how to live again. I keep in touch and give rides to newcomers just to stay grounded and give back what was so freely given to me. Three years later, still sober, loving life, and the happiest most grateful mom to three beautiful kids who trust me again! Thank you Avenues and Kay and Deanna :)
