Before GLWD I had found working with volunteer organizations a bit frustrating. Good intentions were hindered by organizational barriers. At GLWD, which I've had the privilege of serving for more than a year, that is never the case. The place runs like a well oiled machine from top to bottom...volunteers are respected and appreciated and the work is soul satisfying.

Everyone who volunteers on my shift is simply a joy to be with. All come ready to roll up their sleeves and do whatever is requested and the time we spend always includes big smiles and gales of laughter. I am confident that my shift is no exception. Most importantly,preparing meals for those who can't do so themselves is enormously gratifying. I love GLWD for creating the opportunity to serve our community.
