Review for The Steelman Family Foundation, Rio Verde, AZ, USA
My daughter and I are both wheelchair users. My daughter has complex medical issues and severe brittle bones. She has 3-6 appointments a week to keep her healthy and as strong as possible. I am also her transportation to and from school. As a result, we needed reliable transportation, but just couldn’t afford it. Out current vehicle was breaking down weekly, and making it very difficult to get to my daughters appointments, school, or fun. Steelman Family Foundation literally places the key to life in our hand by helping us obtain a newer vehicle that was reliable. It was the true gift if access to life.
We had applied for grants and support but always been turned away. Steelman stepped up and supported us. Because if their generosity and kindness, my child has reliable access to medical care, school, 4H, and time with peers. We have hope for opportunities to experience normalcy again. Because of Steelman, my daughter was able to attend a recent Awards ceremony where she was recognized for her community service. Without mobility, she would never have had this experience. She missed so much without transportation. Steelman gave ya the keys to life.
There is no dollar sign you can place on hope. Steelman gives the keys to hope, one modified van at a time.
Review for Camp Attitude-Oregon Inc, Foster, OR, USA
My daughter has a rare severe physical disability that makes her fragile enough that she cannot attend most summer camps. However, Camp Attitude welcomes her with open arms! the wonderful part is the total acceptance at Camp! Everything has wheelchair access. Everyone sees the child not the disability. There is no pity, only love! Every activity, be it water fights or hot air balloons, is designed to let each and every child participate! Camp runs 100% on donations. No paid staff. Everyone gives their time to give kids and their families a special fun filled week of summer Camp!
Review for Wheel To Walk Foundation, Portland, OR, USA
Wheel To Walk is an amazing foundation that steps up to help cover gfts for special kids to increase their access to normalcy! My daughter was recently given a stroller through Wheel To Walk! This stroller has opened doors for her that we never imagined, including allowing her to participate in the Color Run! This amazing foundation has given countless kids the experience of normalcy in spite of their challenges!
