Review for Women in Film & Video Inc, Washington, DC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Women in Film & Video is an AMAZING organization. It provides opportunities for networking, venues to exchange thoughts and ideas, it posts job listings and job postings. It gives one a great sense of community. For independent producers and directors, it is a membership organization worth paying for. I've been a member for three decades and a very happy one at that. WIFV is definitely worth my time and money.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

give the Executive Director a raise in pay and more staff to help with all the programming and relationship building.

As a long time member of Women in Film & Video (WIFV) I can provide an honest and candid review. WIFV offers so many wonderful benefits to its members but what keeps me supporting this incredible organization is the respect, kindness and sense of community it provides. As an independent producer, often times while working on my own I feel isolated, especially working during the pandemic. WIFV, through its listserve, keeps me from going down a lonely rabbit hole. I have used the listserve to ask questions of my peers, post jobs available on my productions and learn about new technologies and techniques that make my productions that much better. In addition to this feature of membership, the live and virtual programs wonderful as they are both informative and timely. Thank you WIFV and special thanks and kudos to our incredible Executive Director Melissa Houghton.

This organization brings women and men independent filmmakers together and gives them a community and cohesive voice. The professional workshops are excellent as are the social events. The executive director is one of the best in her field. Truly a worthy non-profit to support.

WIFV is the most professionally and member supportive non profit I have ever been associated. The organization is run by a committed staff and lead by a passionate Executive Director. I am proud to be a member of this group.

Women in Film in Video is an incredible resource to independent producers in the Mid Atlantic States. The group is actively engaged with the film and broadcast community on all levels, local, regional and national. The executive director is incredibly pro active and is always looking for new and inovative ways to provide its members with programs to enhance their skill set and knowledge base. The WIFV list serve provides independent producers with a sense of community and support.
