Review for Tabbys Place a Cat Sanctuary Inc, Ringoes, NJ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I adopted Boo-boo, renamed Beau four-five years ago. He can climb but can't jump as he was caught in a door when a kitten and his back was broken (he was also very misunderstood by his previous owners as I came to understand by reading the comprehensive medical and phys. information upon adoption). His personality as a talker was the draw, as my previous 30 lb. kitty was a talker and that was what I was looking for. Ok, so he peed on one of the toys in the sanctuary, I just figured it was from the catnip just given to all the kitties. I didn't pick him, he picked me..as I was checking out a much younger and more energecic kitty. But he didn't want to be ignored and nipped at my calf and it was love at second sight. How did I come upon Tabby's? My niece's had heard of it and knew I was looking for an older cat, as that is how I have gotten my other cat's; one from a family whom the Dad turned out to be alergic to cats, the other I found in a paper bag on the side of the road off the parkway..to this day I don't know why I stopped, but I had her until the ripe old age of 19. But as I was saying my niece's had heard of 'Tabby's Place' and I didn't want to come home finding a puppy as I had to put down my dog, I agreed to go. If I could of I would have taken more than one of those cats home with me,though they did seem very content to be where they were. They are well cared for and loved at Tabbys Place, but they even more happy at their forever homes. I adopted another cat..Annie at a local shelter and she is very mindful of Beau's disability, she lets him chase her and doesn't even jump up until he's right there to catch her, and then she jumps. So, if you want a cat already broken in and not have to deal with the 'baby' stage (sure their cute, but too much work, more so than special need kitties), than I suggest you check out Tabbys Place.
