Review for Children of the Americas (COTA), Lexington, KY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Our annual experience with this program is like no other!! The amount of care, compassion and teamwork 140 people can manage in the course of a week is nothing short of amazing and the genuine smiles of gratitude we get in return for this little drop in the bucket keeps us going year over year.

We spend a year preparing for a little over 1 week in country to enhance the heath and wellbeing of the women and children and a simple note like the one attached makes it ALL worthwhile!!

Under consistently fluid circumstances, in true COTA volunteer form, everyone pulled together to make this year's team trip a great success, including 131 surgical cases and 2364 patient visits in a week of hard but rewarding work by all!! Thanks to everyone for their time and commitment, I can't image another group I would want to work with any more than this one!

A 90+% return rate speaks volumes to the people and work of this group. I am continually amazed at how 100+ highly independent and motivated people all come together in January and work like a well oiled machine. Everyone does what need to be done to do as much as possible for the women and children of Guatemala in that one short week. I am honored to be part of COTA!
