My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for On Course Foundation USA, Orlando, FL, USA
OCF is an amazing charity that assists wounded veterans to get their life "back on course". The events are run by OCF's US coordinator who is an injured retired Service Member, an American Hero, yet humble and kind in every way. The team of PGA professionals that assist from the Marriott Grande Vista in Orlando are second to none in their care and instruction of the injured former Service Members. OCF not only teaches these heroes the game of golf with intricate instruction, they assist these fine warriors in life skills, guiding them thru a difficult transition from service to civilian life. The events are top notch and I have witnessed first hand the participants' enrichment in all aspects of life thru the game of golf.
Review for Building Homes For Heroes Inc, Valley Stream, NY, USA
Building Homes For Heroes is an amazing charity that changes lives one family at a time. Their founder and president is one of the kindest individuals you will ever meet and does not even take a salary himself. Roughly 95% of their donations go back to the families in order to provide mortgage free homes to wounded Veterans. Andy and his amazing team take the time to get to know each family and work with them to give them a beautiful home that fits their needs and is adapted to their particular injury and their family's circumstance. My family is truly blessed to be part of their family and we have personally seen the wonderful life changing things that everyone from Building Homes for Heroes does for the wounded Veterans and their families they have come in contact with. Thank you again for all that you have done and continue to do!
Review for Black Dagger Military Hunt Club Inc., Tampa, FL, USA
Black Dagger is a state of the art charity that assists Service Members and Wounded Veterans spanning all generations, building that bond between us. Dave Winters and his team of all volunteer experts utilize state of the art technology and good old fashioned hands on care and personal relationships to assist the men and women to find that "new normal". I have personally witnessed them guide the blind to "see", and others with both visible and invisible traumatic wounds do what others said would be impossible. All of this has been made possible wih an operating budget consistently under 6% as he and others DO NOT take a salary.
Thank you again for what you and your team have done for myself and other combat wounded veterans around the country!
Review for Fairways for Warriors Inc., Orlando, FL, USA
Fairways for Warriors is a dynamic organization that changes the lives of combat wounded vets through the span of all generations. The camaraderie they foster and good will throughout not only the veterans they serve but also the community as a whole has changed lives for the better. Of the many charities I have worked with, Fairways for Warriors is one of the best as far as touching the veteran and his family at the basic level with a caring and hands on approach. Kudos to Tom, Al, and the rest of the team for all that you do for veterans and their families.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Find a way to increase their funding so that they could help more veterans an expand their ability to serve more communities.
