Review for Support Network for Battered Women, Sunnyvale, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been volunteering for SNBW for almost 3 years. They are a superb organization that is extremely client oriented. They offer the full spectrum of Domestic Violence services. What is special about this organization is that they offer these service seamlessly to the clients. For example, when a client is transferred from the crisis line to the shelter or legal advocates, it is done so in a very sensitive manner with as little disruption to the client as possible. Often the same case manager stays with the client from the beginning to the end of the services being offered. Also, the volunteer program is extremely well run. Volunteers are given all of the training and communication necessary to perform their task. I would definitely recommend volunteering for this worthwhile organization.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

watching the survivors of Domestic Violence get all of the services and support they need.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

keep doing what they are doing.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Watching the organization transform 'victims' of domestic violence into 'SURVIVORS'. They do this by empowering the clients by giving them all of the information to rebuild their self esteem which allows them to begin taking control of their lives.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Sensitive, caring, selfless. Totally committed to the mission of the organization. They are a wonderful group of people

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

WOW!!! They could grow every service... have a larger shelter, have a transitional shelter, hire a specialized legal team, the list goes on.

Ways to make it better...

no comments here - my experiences have always been excellent

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Funding - given the economic environment every business, profit or non-profit, will be struggling.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
