Review for Poppy Foundation, Las Vegas, NV, USA

Rating: 5 stars

15 years ago when my daughter moved to Las Vegas & needed a vet for for her cat, I first met Dr Steelman & learned of her dedication to homeless unwanted cats. I have been to visit the Poppy Foundation and can attest to the stellar job they are doing. I visit every time I am in town and spend time visiting the kittens & the special cats who have a permanent home at Poppy and love seeing how happy and well taken care of they are. I have also contributed to their fundraisers and donated raffle items to them to help raise funds for the cats. I am a supporter of this foundation because I believe everyone there is open and honest and is doing the hard work of taking care of cats that others have turned their back on. The Poppy Foundation is the first place I would volunteer at if I lived in Las Vegas and I would them recommend them to anyone who was seeking to adopt, foster or re-home a cat.

Thank you Tamaris! Dr Steelman is an incredibly kind hearted soul, we could not do as much as we do without her support and expertise! Thank you for your continued support and donations!

I don't believe I can say enough good about this young man and his organization....his selflessness in the face of his own adversity is overcoming....His Warrior Bead program is truly unique.......imagine rewarding someone for doing such ordinary things ...as in the case of my g-daughter just getting up in the morning.....she was being bullied beyond belief in school...Chris sent her a note and a HERO key chain comprised of Warrior Beads....she still uses it as a reminder that she IS someone ....it's very difficult for children...grownups too ....when your disability can't be seen.....life is full of choices and Chris has made some very good choices...I am happy to call him my friend and happy to help him in any way I can...all his supplies for this program come from donations ...hundreds of people benefit from his Warrior Beads...It's a wonderful program ...and what is the saying...And a child shall lead them....

Thank You 1Boy4Change for all the love and support of my 2 grandchildren...one with Chiari and the other with Bullying issues...your Warrior beads were the spark that gave them hope. She carries her house key on her key chain. He has not strung his beads but looks at them often and knows that someone else with a chronic illness shares his pain. It is difficult to be a teenager but a teen in pain is more so. As a grandparent who loves them both I Thank You from the bottom of my heart Chris.

My first encounter with 1B4C was on FB. Of course I'm cautious of postings on FB, so I started researching this 'boy' and his program. At the time he was in a contest with his service dog for the Humane Societies Hero Dog of the Year Award. I was struck with how much one young man can accomplish. I have worked in Boy Scouting in past years and know what young boys are capable of in search of their Eagle Award so Chris' determination was not new to me. What I find commendable is his dedication especially with his medical issues. I recently put together a quilt for Chris with the names of over 400 people whose lives Chris has touched in someway. I am proud to call this young man and his family my friends and to share the love with them.
