Review for San Luis Obispo Bicycle Club Inc, Sn Luis Obisp, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

SLOBC is a tourist style bicycle club for SLO County. They have two fund raising events each year that provide funding for local schools and non-profit bicycle related groups. They have numerous members in both North County as well as South County of San Luis Obispo County. There are supported and volunteer led rides nearly every day.
My volunteer activity is to provide a sugested route and act as ride leader once or twice per week for one group in North County. This group is one of four North County groups and we all get together Monday, Wednesday and Friday for a morning ride of 30 to 50 miles in length with a coffee stop somewhere along the route. This provides a rest period and opportunity to socialize with members of the group or on occasion to interact with the other groups as well.

Review for Wolf Hybrid Adoption & Rescue, Paso Robles, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

As a volunteer my duties have been to clean up the pens where the wolves or wolf-hybreds are housed. I do this once a week as the duties are shared with other volunteers. We also change the water daily and prepare meals for all the animals. Each volunteer is assigned to work for at least four hours one day per week. Having this schedule means that volunteers have the opportunity to help care for these majestic animals and it helps keep the work load to a level where you can enjoy the work you do as well as the animals you are helping. The animals are very intelligent and they have gotten to know who we are. They great us with howls as we arrive to do our volunteer work and also as we leave for the day. I read some of the books at the local library about wolves and it has been very interesting to be able to see the behaviors these authors wrote about. Another feature is the training volunteers go through before interacting with these animals. This training helps you to better serve the animals in a manner safe for them and you.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would not change a thing regarding how they opperate. I just wish they had more funding.
